What do you guys believe in? That the end of the world is near? That we will soon be liberated by computers? That we will end up having clones for ourselves like in "The Island"? That our very own traditions and values will be put aside for the sake of evolution of the Internet and the computers?
I believe that we do not need to have a computer to be accepted in a community. Yes we may get more fulfillment through communities in cyberspace, at times we feel that communities in cyberspace understands us much more than the community we have right in front of our eyes.
The thing is we need the human touch, we need compassion shown on human faces, we need the wrinkles, we need the breath, we need the tears. A matter of factly, we simply need a human to be by our side. It is simply etched deep within the values and the evolution of human race. Communities in cyberspace can’t give us that.
Lets take a few minutes now and ponder. What will life be if it is liberated by the Internet and the computers. I have for you a site that presents to us a dream that will/can/soon become a fact in our life. What do you people think? Tragedy, mayhem or enlightenment? Check it out!
This was pasrt of my course during my uni times. I did well in this unit and I passed with flying colours. The thing is I was always against the idea of a community that can give us feelings and hope through cyberspace. It have intrigued me ever since and I just want to share with you guys.
If any of you people manage to come across this posting and have something to say bout it, good or bad, pls feel free to leave your comment. It will be duly noted. I mean I just want to know more…
